Nuno tutorial

Larger than life Nuno fits on 1 page, careful cut out all the pieces

Nuno

Nuno

Cut out all the pieces and fold tabs, use tweezers or the straight edge of a ruler for best results.

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

I usually start with the legs, they're pretty straight forward - at least the one is. I didn't get the right pics so if you're having issues check out Nick's tutorial for more info.

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

Start with the one with the least amount of cuts, you should be able to just fold along the lines to make like a tube and then glue the side tabs and press together with tweezers if possible.

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

after gluing side, fold in tabs for the top and bottom, I do bottom tab, side tabs, then top tab and gently press them down. don't glue the middle of the leg tab yet as it can be used to balance him later.

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

Start by folding the second leg in a tube like form, like the first leg, then glue the side tabs together and press with tweezers if possible.

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

The second leg is a bit trickier as it folds at the knee and toes, these tabs can be folded in and glued, just leave the middle/ankle tab for now so you can balance him later

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

Gently glue the bent toe tab at a right angle, use tweezers to press the pieces together before gluing the end of the shoe closed.

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

Next glue the bent knee back, I think here I accidentally glues the ankle too soon, so don't do that, wait til the end. again, press the knee joint with tweezers before gluing the top of the leg closed

Nuno Leg

Nuno Leg

glue that pain in the ass tab at the back up into the back of the leg.

Nuno Leg

Nuno Leg

Wonder why I made this so complicated and didn't just make them all the same like the rest?

- Nuno once said that no matter how crappy or old he feels at times, once his tippy toes hit that stage everything goes away. so get those tippy toes together and on that stage.

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

your outcome should look like this

Nuno legs

Nuno legs

here's both the legs done

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

another angle of the finished legs

Nuno Legs

Nuno Legs

Now that the legs are done, set them aside and it's onto the next part

Nuno Arms

Nuno Arms

On to the arms. these should be pretty straight forward. fold all the tabs in and start carefully gluing them bit by bit. start with the one without the hole in the hand for the mic as its easier.

Nuno Arms

Nuno Arms

All the folds are mountain folds ^ accept the very end one on the middle of the arm, shown in this pic as it tucks in under the arm piece that folds over it

Nuno Arms

Nuno Arms

Finally glue the top of the arm closed

Nuno arms

Nuno arms

The arm that holds the mic needs the 2 holes cut out with an exacto knife or very carefully with scissors. Then carefully glue and tuck in the tabs around the fist, then glue the bottom side arm tab together and press with tweezers.

Nuno Arms

Nuno Arms

Fold arm and tuck in tab to hold it in place

Nuno Arms

Nuno Arms

use tweezers to secure the inner tab that holds the fold in the arm together and glue the top side of the arm together

Nuno Arms

Nuno Arms

Leaving the top of the arm open leaves room to press inner parts together

Nuno Arms

Nuno Arms

finish by closing up the top and tucking and gluing the tab into the side

Nuno Body

Nuno Body

On to the sexy body, again pretty straight it's forward, fold down the tabs around the edges...

Nuno Body

Nuno Body

see how the side kinda "bends" near the bottom? fold across the main body to match these contours - mountain fold ^ the front of the body and valley fold -v- the back. There ARE fold lines, they just might be hard to see.

Nuno Body

Nuno Body

fold the bottom side panel tabs in and the "bottom" which should be the final fold line on the back body panel

Nuno Body

Nuno Body

Glue body tabs under the side panels and press with tweezers if possible, then fold "bottom" down over the folded side tabs and front body tab and glue in place. You're done with the main body, set aside and onto the next part...

Nuno Head

Nuno Head

Make sure Nuno's mouth is cut out first, then fold in tabs and glue the ones the go behind the face, creating a box like shape like in the pic.

Nuno Head

Nuno Head

Fold in the rest of the edge tabs and get ready to make his mouth, I don't have good pics apparently but fold it into a box shape with the colour on the inside and his uvula folded in "first" so that it's viewable and then glue the surrounding tabs on that side. fold the smaller tabs of the other side outwards like an open box - these tabs get glued and secured to the back of the face panel over the mouth hole, forming the mouth.

Nuno Head

Nuno Head

This shows the "mouth box" glued over the mouth hole, again, make sure the uvula hangs downwards when in place and looking from the front of the face.

Nuno Head

Nuno Head

Fold and glue in place the back of the head panel, press with tweezers if possible.

Nuno Head

Nuno Head

This is what your final head should look like from the front.

Nuno Head and body

Nuno Head and body

glue the tabs that surround the head and centre his head on his body over the big drop.

Nuno Head and body

Nuno Head and body

This is what you should have. Next glue his arms to his sides so the tops are just below the arm hole's tops. Then glue the top of the legs in place about an inch apart, if you're having issues with balance, now's the time to glue those ankle/shoe tabs into a place where he stands properly.

Nuno Hats

Nuno Hats

Both hats go together the same way, fold in the tabs and glue under side panels. then glue the brim together folding at the centre, then after gluing fold upwards so it looks like a flipped up brim.

Nuno hat

Nuno hat

This is what your folds should look like.

Nuno hat

Nuno hat

this is how it should look glued together.

Nuno hat

Nuno hat

This is you being done a rad hat for Nuno

Nuno Mic

Nuno Mic

So, I'm not gonna lie, the mic's kinda a bitch cuz it's so small, I also apparently forgot to take pics of the base of the mic, but you basically just fold it like a cone and glue the bottom on and tuck the upper tab in. I think it helps to roll it around something round and small like a charge cable or something to help it form its cylindrical shape. As for the top ball, use tweezers to fold the tabs in and gently fold down fold lines length and width wise.

Nuno Mic

Nuno Mic

you're gonna wanna wrap it into a ball and glue all the tabs together

Nuno Mic

Nuno Mic

of course another shot of the folds but not how it glues together, if you have issues, just message me on the site.

Nuno Mic

Nuno Mic

This is what it should look like together, as you can see, it's hard for even me to get it to look perfect, but have patience cuz I didn't lol

Nuno Mic

Nuno Mic

again, the mic ball, all that's left is gluing it and then jamming it. on the previously made cone part

Nuno Done

Nuno Done

here's what your little man should look like with mic and both hats
